Eyes, mane, tail and cutie mark are really the most important things. Everything else is just generic pony body

Sometimes it is it all depends on how the pony looks like

Awww yes. What would be so original if you don't have a unique mane style?

Oh it obviously is! Mane style is one of two factors, just near the color scheme, that defines originality! :)

Very. I know I love my hair... When I have to get a hair cut I get sad at losing my hair, and I try to keep it just long enough to be a little unruly. That's probably why I think manes are important, even if I don't get very elaborate with most of mine. Hair speaks.

Cutie marks get first consideration. After all everyone stares at the flanks first.

Can't have a mane looking too crazy or just not the character's style.

It kinda personalizes the character just from the hairstyle~

Manes are one of the most important aesthetical aspects of a pony OC. As is color scheme, body shape, and that sort of stuff.

But the character is made in it's personality, and it's traits. Being adept or highly skilled at something makes up who they are, not their "super epiczz cutee mrk" and that.
