you know now that I've taken the time to think about it and I've watched season four so far I look back and realize: Why were we worried in the first place? I mean the MLP staff hasn't let us down before (not counting Derpy but hey they had an image as a company to maintain) and after watching the season three finale a couple of times I realize that this promotion of Twilight to princess shows that this show has something that not a lot of cartoons have these days and that is Character Development. Sure this came out of nowhere for bronies but we've been through worse. We were born in the fiery bowls of 4chan and if we can make it there we can pull through anything sure this screws up a lot of Fanfics but we'll adjust so again I ask why were we so worried?
I'll admit, I was surprised to see it actually happening at first. Then, after watching the finale over and over again, I finally get to accept it. If only a few others have an open heart for this reason.
How do I feel? Indifferent. It was a given from episode 1, if you're an apprentice, it goes without saying your going to continue the profession/lifestyle/role/etc. I didn't know the characters back then so I didn't have an opinion. What I feel is relieved I didn't put Twilight in my fanfic and don't have to worry about that issue like alot of stories (Fallout Equestria D. I'd like to see how the writers do this, although I imagine unless Lauren Faust returns, we might have a rough time with season 4...
I think this would have been a good way to close out the show. I don't like this happening now because it makes the character a little less imperfect. I also don't like the way they are promoting it, especially the whole join Miss America in celebrating Twilight becoming a princess angle.
I was actually thinking about this today. I'm looking forward to it. Season four is going to be spectacular when it finally gets here. What's going to happen in the finale used to be the kind of thing you were lucky to see when a series ended.
