Any plans for thanksgiving?

Journal Entry: Wed Nov 25, 2015, 3:04 PM
Hello guys. How are you all doing?

Christmas is coming :D but first it's thanks giving and I hope that you will all have a good one.

Also, have you been enjoying the latest series of MLP?

I'd like also to take this opportunity to ask you what things you'd like to see with the group. Any ideas you may have. I hope to create more fun for you all and to help the admins who do such a fantastic job here and who are largely unrecognised for their hard work and dedication.

Be well. - sockhiddenunderarook

Recent News Surrounding Drawponies and Response

Journal Entry: Fri Apr 24, 2015, 10:51 PM
Hello everypony,

I hope you are all enjoying the new season! Today's episode promises to be truly exciting (not the least for the reason that Rainbow Dash is my favorite pony).

I would like to take this moment to talk about the recent news surrounding drawponies and allegationsof him having traced some of his art. A year ago or so, there was a debate within some of the groups I run about allowing traced images to be accepted or not. The questions were mostly surrounding vectors, which tend to have a high volume of show tracing. Tracing is something that helps artists develop artistically, and acts sort of like training wheels. Ultimately, this group (and others that I manage) decided that traced art is to be allowed, to help encourage further work from developing artists and to help them get feedback on their progress from those who see their submissions in this group.

However, the situation with Drawponies is a bit different. He recently admitted to his having traced certain images in his artwork. Drawponies refers to himself (on his own dA page) as a "professional" digital artist, and must be held to such standards. He has knowingly traced the work of the show creators, not to use as "training wheels" to improve his own work, but to sell under his name. I personally do not believe that is fair to the show artists whom we have to thank dearly for our show. As someone who has seen Drawponies at conventions and has witnessed his large online presence, it is clear that he has been very successful, and has made a large amount of money from his artwork. While I fully believe that he is free to continue making money off of his OWN work, I, nor the groups that I run, can condone the actions that he has chosen to take in regards to making money off of work that was directly not his own.

As a result, this group will no longer be accepting submissions of art by Drawponies, and neither will our sister group, MLPFriendshipIsMagic.

Thank you all very much for reading this, and enjoy your weekends.

Baby Pony Competition

Journal Entry: Wed Mar 11, 2015, 2:50 PM

Your task, should you accept it is to draw any MLP character you desire as a small cute version.  Character does not have to be a pony.

Must be new drawings only  and using the "add drawing" button. Cannon characters only.

How do I submit?

You submit by clicking the "add a drawing" button on the comment section of this blog and then draw in Muro, but don't worry. You get a decent sized area this time and it seems that it even has layers now! Didn't even notice that.

Prize on offer?

There will be at the very least 1 3 month premium membership up for grabs or 636 points if the recipient would prefer to have points than a premium membership. They will be contacted via note to sort this out.

The winner selected is Neitheram and they've been contacted by note if they would like points or a 3 month premium membership. A new competition will follow soon. Here's the winning entry.…

Recruiting Sorting Admins

Journal Entry: Tue Apr 29, 2014, 3:13 AM
Hello. It seems that we could use some more sorters.

The task is to move deviations from the sorting folder in to the folder that they go in to. Information on where deviations are meant to be go can be found in the admin area if you are selected.

What do I need to do to apply?

We need people who will be dedicated. Even 20 minutes per day would be an awesome help. I appreciate that people have lives but I don't think that 20 minutes is too much to ask.  If everybody shares out the taks than it'll become less of a difficulty rather than one person doing most of it and others doing nothing, which isn't fair.

Having a high amount of group experience would be beneficial to you in this application, especially in super-groups, as you'll be working with sub folders and a structure near the folder limit.

Applicants should also be extremely precise and organized. We don't want anything getting into the wrong folder. Having some familiarity with our gallery already wouldn't hurt either.

Thank you for reading.
